Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in another country for a year? What it would be like to fully immerse yourself in another culture; new foods, people, scenery, education, literally everything new. This year we sent an amazing young man to Italy as a Youth Exchange Student. We are thrilled to share his experience with you over the next year.

Jack Dupont is from the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He's grown up in a small town, but has always been curious of the world beyond. Through his blog Beyond Mississippi, Jack shares his journey - unearthed in ancient churches, wandering cobblestone streets, tasting regional dishes, and navigating the joys and challenges of life far from home.

Follow along as Jack writes about:

  • First impressions in Genoa and beyond
  • Adventures with fellow exchange students from around the world
  • Cultural surprises, host-family life, and new friendships
  • Reflections on home, identity, and what it means to "step beyond Mississippi"
Read his stories and travel with him virtually to a year of discovery, growth, and unforgettable memories in Italy.

World Polio Day will be here in no time! It’s a chance for Rotarians around the globe to celebrate the progress we’ve made in the fight to End Polio and to recommit to finishing the job. Together, we can make history by eradicating this disease for good.

We encourage every club to host an acknowledgement or event in honor of World Polio Day and to support End Polio Now with a contribution.

Past District Governor, Ace Necaise, and his kids, Stacey, Nathan, and Katie, are gearing up for the Southern Magnolia Century Ride on October 25, 2025 — a 100-mile challenge they’re calling “Miles for Polio.” It’s a true family effort to raise awareness and funds for Rotary’s mission to wipe out polio for good. The ride takes place the day after World Polio Day, October 24.

Between now and race day, we’ll be cheering them on with updates, photos, and progress reports. When Ace and his crew cross that finish line, we invite everyone to chip in with a donation to Polio Plus. We’re also encouraging every club to do something special on World Polio Day — host an event, share a post, or make a splash in your community. Let’s keep the wheels turning and the momentum strong to End Polio Now!
