You are invited to host a party!!
The 2011 RI Convention will be held in New Orleans. The local organizing committee is in charge of some of the events, including a social/fellowship event on Monday evening. This event is called the Monday Evening Host Hospitality night. This social is an RI convention tradition offering a memorable opportunity for guests to have dinner and an evening of hospitality and international fellowship. The event can be hosted by Rotarians in their homes or by one or more clubs in larger venues. The event can be as small or as large, as simple or as extravagant, as the hosts design and can afford. Rotarian hosts also provide the transportation for the guests and will be provided with the names and contact info for the guests assigned to their venue so that the hosts can contact the guests with the transportation arrangements. In all, the event should be about 3-4 hours long, including transportation.
Hosts are not limited to Rotarians and Rotary clubs in the immediate New Orleans vicinity. Out of town Rotarians and Rotary clubs can sign up as hosts. For those out of towners interested, we can partner you with Rotarians and Rotary clubs in the New Orleans area or you can choose your own partner from a list that will be posted on the organizing committee website. We are asking for only two things at this time. First, we ask all Rotarians and Rotary clubs interested in hosting co-hosting an event on Monday night or making a financial contribution to fill out this preliminary host interest signup form. Second, please register a club liaison below.
While it may seem that the RI Convention is a long way off, time is of the essence. We anticipate about 3000 registrants for the Monday Evening Host Hospitality event. Because this is such a popular event, it will require advance planning and coordination.
